It was our first time at Piccolo Bistro today and we could not have asked for a more perfect experience. The waiter was considerate, kind, helpful from the very first few minutes, ensuring we had the heater placed near us as it turned out to be a chilly afternoon. The waiter proceeded to make us a custom ordered pasta dish with shrimps that was not on the menu, he was understanding and made the dish exactly as ordered and the meal was delicious. He constantly came to check that everything was well and extremely polite and humble individual. The owners John & Sophie were remarkable kind people making us feel completely at home and even made my wife a complimentary hot lemon tea due to the chilly day. If you want kindness and great service, with very tasty food, great outdoor setting, meet wonderful owners, then we would recommend this restaurant.

We went in on a stormy night for a dinner of two, and the host greeted us with a friendly, warm welcome. We started off the evening with the recommendation from Weekly Specials, with Salmon Crab Cakes and Escarole Bean Soup. The crab cakes were phenomenal, not salty at all, yet it had a very good flavor. I especially loved the leafy veggies in the soup, and it was warm and perfect for a rainy evening. We then shared a Porcini Mushroom risotto with bacon wrapped colossal black tiger shrimp, which had generous portions. It was seriously some of the best risotto I've ever had in my life. We wrapped up with Homemade tiramisu, and cappuccino and honey with tea. Tiramisu is out of this world! Highly recommend if you are in the area (or even worth driving to Ridgewood just for this place!), for a nice romantic evening and there are plenty of seating spaces, both indoors and outdoors. We parked our car in the lot, which is located in the back of the building, and had no issues finding a spot even for a busy evening.

We sat out on the patio with a view of the street. We enjoyed people watching. It started raining pretty but the server closed the awning to keep everyone dry. Service was really great. Food was really delicious. Ambiance was chill and comfortable. Can't expect more on the food and vibes here. Will definitely be back again soon.

This restaurant is outstanding! Super friendly and attentive staff, very casual and fun atmosphere (we sat on the outdoor patio... they have heaters if it gets cold) and the food was absolutely delicious! My favorites were the Mediterranean salad and the risotto with asparagus and shrimp, which were perfect for my gluten free diet. I highly recommend dining at this local gem! I will definitely be back.
